Blogging about my first week out of college due to snow and how this might be the reason for me flunking out of college...

sNOw!
First off, ya'll (yes, I'm from Oklahoma) should know that I am a freshman at the University of Oklahoma -- it's okay if you are jealous, it's normal -- and this last week I didn't go to class at all; chill mom I have an excuse. Oklahoma got hit with a snowball the size of the moon and since Oklahoma is not very quick to react when it comes to snow and ice and hail, the one and only, President David Boren, decided to make our lives a little bit more sunnier (irony, isn't it funny) and cancel class. I know what you're thinking, who wouldn't like that? But as the week went on I became a gopher cooped up in my room with a newfound addiction to junk-food and Jersey Shore; depressing, I know. So as much as this hurts me to say, I need school. Somewhere deep down inside I feel that thing called a conscience telling me I shouldn't be enjoying these snow days too much because I'm at college for one thing: to get an education. So hopefully as I start school next week I'm not too lost because that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you feel something is about to go horribly wrong, well I've had that feeling all week leading up to the first day of classes.. So wish me luck folks. I'm going to need it..

Is this blog for a grade??
ReplyDeleteI'm just kidding, Johnny Angel.
ReplyDeleteyes sir it is!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your blog. It was easy to follow and extremely entertaining! I really like how you connected the snow days with our heavy reliance on smart phones. Additionally, I thought your main title and subtitles were clever and the use of pictures added a nice touch! Good job!
ReplyDeleteI CAN RELATE! When I'm out of school I realize how much I hate school...for a few days. The snow days were awesome and I would not take them back, but I became a bum too. I knew I should be studying and using my time wisely but I did just the opposite. As much as school sucks at times I feel blessed to be able to get an education like so many people can't. And let's be honest, if we weren't in school we'd just be working... boring. We are so lucky to have the opportunity that we do! :)
ReplyDeleteI feel the exact same way. for the first few days I was so happy that there was no school. but then the next few days i started thing about how far behind we are getting in all of our classes and how it will make life harder. i'm happy to say that after school started back up i was able to catch up in all my classes and make good grades!
